The Gretsch G9221 Bobtail Steel Round-Neck A.E. is an electro-acoustic resonator guitar built around an all-steel body and Gretsch’s Ampli-Sonic “Spider” cone diaphragm, spun from 99% pure aluminium. Its steel construction and spider-bridge design deliver a distinctive resonator voice with clear projection.
A round mahogany neck with an open-pore semi-gloss urethane finish is paired with a padauk fingerboard, medium jumbo frets and a bone nut. The guitar is fitted with a Fishman Nashville pickup integrated into the spider bridge for amplified performance, along with vintage-style open-back Grover Sta-Tite machine heads and a weathered trapeze tailpiece.
