VOX VE-SD ValveEnergy Silk Drive

The Silk Drive is a valve overdrive pedal inspired by the harmonically rich clean and creamy drive tones of classic boutique amplifiers. Its all-analogue signal path is powered by Nutube technology and internally boosted voltage for increased headroom, responsive dynamics and amp-like feel in a compact pedal format.

Three output modes allow the Silk Drive to work as a conventional pedal in a guitar rig, a line-level preamp, or a direct-recording solution with its selectable analogue cabinet simulator. STANDARD mode is suited to use with an amplifier, while PREAMP and CAB-SIM modes can be used when recording directly to an audio interface. Active EQ provides further tonal shaping in each mode.

The Channel Link function allows two or more Valvenergy pedals to operate like switchable amplifier channels. Connect two pedals with a standard 3.5 mm stereo cable, or link three or four pedals using a stereo 3.5 mm splitter; activating one pedal bypasses the others.

A high-contrast OLED display shows the active operating mode and an oscilloscope-style visualisation of how the signal waveform responds to the control settings.
