The Warren Ellis MT Microtonal Bass pairs a familiar short-scale four-string format with a 27-fret microtonal fingerboard, extending beyond the conventional 12-tone layout. Its additional fretting positions provide access to intervals between standard semitones, opening up new harmonic and melodic possibilities while retaining the foundational role of an electric bass.

Built with a solid alder body and bolt-on maple neck, the MT features a rosewood fingerboard with pearloid/MOTO dot markers, a small C neck profile and medium-jumbo microtonal frets. A single Warren Ellis Blade single-coil pickup is controlled by straightforward volume and tone controls.

The bass is fitted with a fully adjustable vintage-style F-style bridge, open-back Kluson-style tuners, chrome hardware and a three-ply tortoise pickguard.
