Royer R-10 Ribbon Condenser Microphone

The Royer Labs R-10 is a passive ribbon microphone designed for both studio recording and live use. Its compact, durable construction and high SPL handling make it well suited to close-miking loud sources including electric guitar cabinets, brass instruments and drums.

The R-10 uses Royer’s patented offset-ribbon design, providing optimised SPL handling from the front of the microphone, while the rear side offers a brighter response for lower-SPL sources. A multi-layer windscreen helps reduce plosives and proximity effect, while the internally shock-mounted ribbon is isolated from vibration for improved durability.

Its open grille design reduces standing waves and comb filtering for a clearer capture, with a flat 30 Hz–15 kHz frequency response and bidirectional figure-eight polar pattern.
