The RD-700GX is Roland’s flagship stage piano, combining an 88-key PHA II “Ivory Feel” keyboard with Escapement, stereo multi-sampled acoustic pianos and SuperNATURAL electric pianos. Its weighted action is designed to reproduce the feel and surface texture of acoustic piano keys, with moisture-absorbing keytops for a secure playing surface.

At its core is an 88-key stereo multi-sampled piano sound engine, supported by 128-voice polyphony and 256 MB of wave memory. Alongside its acoustic piano sounds, the RD-700GX includes SuperNATURAL electric pianos, tonewheel organs, General MIDI 2 sounds and rhythm sets. Up to 100 setups can be stored for fast recall.

The Piano Designer function allows detailed adjustment of piano characteristics including hammer noise, damper resonance and duplex scale. Sounds can also be shaped using eight onboard multi-effects processors, along with reverb, chorus, compression and a four-band digital equaliser.

USB memory playback supports Standard MIDI Files as well as WAV, AIFF and MP3 audio files. The Audio Key function assigns the bottom 15 keys to audio playback control. With multi-zone operation and three MIDI outputs, the RD-700GX also serves as a capable master controller for external MIDI instruments.
