The Roland Juno-106 is a six-voice analogue polyphonic synthesizer introduced in the mid-1980s, combining the straightforward architecture and hands-on control of the earlier Juno series with patch memory and extensive MIDI implementation.

Each of its six voices uses a digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) for stable tuning, with sawtooth and pulse waveforms, a sub-oscillator and noise generator. The signal then passes through an analogue high-pass filter and resonant 24dB/octave low-pass filter before reaching the VCA. An ADSR envelope and LFO provide modulation, with the front panel offering immediate slider-based access to the synthesis parameters.

The Juno-106 shares much of its fundamental architecture and sonic character with the Juno-60, but expands patch storage to 128 memories and adds MIDI In, Out and Thru. Its MIDI implementation also allows many front-panel parameter changes to be transmitted and received, making it considerably easier to integrate with sequencers and other MIDI equipment.

The signal path is completed by Roland's distinctive analogue BBD stereo chorus, with two selectable chorus modes providing the wide, animated character closely associated with the Juno series.
