Absolute killer deal for a vintage bass with this much mojo.
Includes original ashtray covers & loaded with the original grey bobbin pickups dated to 1975. A very fast playing bass with loads of tone and vibe. Strung with D'Addario Chromes flatwound strings.
The only non original parts are a new bone nut, Dunlop-branded strap pins, the screws that mount the pickguard & pickups, the neck volume pot (CTS dated 1987) and master tone pot. It appears 3 x inlays (1, 3 & 7) have had re-installation or have been replaced - very clean work and unnoticed under the fingers.
The neck has suffered from the dreaded 'poly peel' at some point and has been sanded back to satin feel and most certainly assists in fast runs down the fingerboard unlike the glossy post 1968 Fender poly-finished necks. Although there has been evidence of a split at headstock, it has been glued & is currently very stable.
Truss rod has room both ways and is currently set up well for fast finger-style grooves.
