Limited Edition Electro Harmonix Adrian Belew Echoflanger Pedal

The Electro-Harmonix Adrian Belew Echoflanger is a limited-edition reissue of the original EHX Echoflanger, a bucket-brigade modulation pedal closely associated with Adrian Belew's distinctive guitar sounds. The design combines chorus, flanging, fixed comb filtering and short delay effects, ranging from conventional modulation through to extreme pitch-bending and self-oscillating textures.

The pedal provides six operating modes. The original Filter Matrix, Flange, Chorus and Slap Back modes are joined by two combination modes: Slap Back + Filter Matrix and Chorus + Flange. The latter recreates a setting Belew discovered on his original Echoflanger by positioning its mode control between the Flange and Chorus settings.

Filter Matrix disables the modulation LFO to provide a fixed comb filter that can be manually tuned, while Flange provides conventional swept comb filtering. Chorus uses a modulated short delay for thicker, wider modulation, and Slap Back removes the modulation to provide a short echo. The two combination modes allow the different processing elements to operate together for more complex effects.

Feedback, Rate, Width and Tune controls provide extensive adjustment of the modulation behaviour, with Feedback capable of pushing the circuit into self-oscillation. A rear-panel Blend switch can remove the dry signal, allowing the modulation modes to operate as more pronounced vibrato-style effects. Stereo outputs provide expanded spatial effects, while relay-based true bypass removes the effect from the signal path when disengaged.
