Eastwood Lizard MT Electric Microtonal Guitar

The Eastwood Lizard MT is a purpose-built microtonal electric guitar that opens the door to musical intervals beyond the standard 12-tone scale. Produced under licence from the original design by Australian luthier Zac Eccles, it combines familiar electric guitar playability with a precision microtonal fret layout, allowing players to explore entirely new melodic and harmonic possibilities.

By introducing additional frets between the notes of a conventional guitar, the Lizard MT provides access to pitches that are unavailable on a standard instrument. The result is a distinctive tonal palette capable of everything from subtle melodic inflections to rich quarter-tone harmonies and hypnotic drones. While its sound has become closely associated with modern Australian psychedelic rock, the instrument is equally suited to experimental music, world music traditions, film scoring, and any style where alternative tuning systems can inspire new creative directions.

Despite its unconventional fretboard, the Lizard MT retains the feel and ergonomics of a traditional electric guitar. Its bolt-on maple neck, basswood body and vintage-style dual pickup configuration provide a familiar playing experience, making it approachable for guitarists looking to explore microtonality without having to learn an entirely new instrument.

Produced under licence from Zac Eccles, the Lizard MT also supports Grow The Music, an Australian organisation that provides instruments and music services to members of the community who may not otherwise have access to them.
