Hand-built in Australia by respected amp designer Darryl Hoy, the ValveTone Neon 25 is a compact all-valve head inspired by the legendary Marshall JCM800 2204 circuit. Delivering 25 watts of EL34-powered punch, it captures the tight low end, cutting mids, and harmonically rich overdrive that made classic British amps a staple of rock music, while adding switchable gain and brightness options for greater flexibility.
With three 12AX7 preamp valves driving a pair of EL34 power tubes, the Neon 25 excels at everything from articulate cleans and crunchy rhythm tones to saturated lead sounds. Like many ValveTone designs, it balances vintage-inspired character with practical modern features, making it equally at home in the studio, rehearsal room, or on stage. Built in small numbers, these Australian-made amplifiers have developed a loyal following thanks to their robust construction, thoughtful design, and exceptional tone.
The preamp valves have been replaced with the model-correct Genalex Gold Lion 12AX7 / ECC83 valves, while the power amp section has been fitted with the standard Mullard EL34 valves specified for this model. The original valves and paperwork are also included.
