The Expert Sleepers ES-5 is a gate, clock, sync, and MIDI expansion module designed for use with the Expert Sleepers ES-3 Lightpipe/CV Interface. By piggybacking on a single stereo output pair from the ES-3, the ES-5 dramatically expands the number of available digital outputs within an Expert Sleepers modular control system.

The module provides eight independent digital outputs capable of handling gates, triggers, clocks, sync signals, and MIDI transmission directly from compatible software environments. In addition to its own outputs, the ES-5 also functions as a hub for further expansion, supporting up to six additional expansion modules such as the ESX-8GT Gate Expander or ESX-4CV.

This architecture allows a single ES-3 system to scale into a highly flexible modular control environment capable of handling large numbers of gates, clocks, drum triggers, sequencer signals, MIDI outputs, and CV expansion duties from a DAW or software sequencer.

The ES-5 integrates particularly well with Silent Way, Max/MSP, Ableton Live, Bitwig Studio, VCV Rack, and other software environments capable of routing digital control data through the ES-3 platform.
