The TASCAM Portastudio was the world's first four-track recorder based on a standard compact audio cassette tape and birthed a generation of musicians able to record at home. The 488 wrangled 8 tracks into the cassette format, giving amateur musicians the multi-tracking experience at the home budget.
Features 8-Track Recording, 12 Input Channels, 14kHz bandwidth, 90dB signal-to-noise ratio, 12dB of cut and boost at 100Hz and 10kHz respectively, Two effect sends, and DBX Noise Reduction!
Made in Japan.
Outputs are a touch noisy and there's a small amount bit of bleed on some of the channels (mainly 5 and 6). Could do with a little service and head realignment, but in working condition.
Includes 1 Type II High Bias cassette.
