JHS Pedals Double Dragon Lo-Fi Octave Device

The Double Dragon Lo-Fi Octave Device draws from the same analogue octave divider technology heard in classics like the MXR Blue Box, DOD Octoplus, Boss OC-2, Ibanez OT10 and Electro-Harmonix Micro-Synth. This is old-school circuitry from the pre-DSP era, where the character comes from imperfect tracking and raw analogue response. Single notes turn into thick riff machines, while chords push the circuit into strange territory as it glitches, stutters and fights itself in musical ways. It is not built to track perfectly. It is built to react.

The Double Dragon delivers a monophonic analogue octave effect with both sub-octave and octave-up sounds. The lower octave provides the heavy foundation with the familiar behaviour of vintage divider circuits. The upper octave adds a gritty octave-up distortion that sits somewhere between an Octavia and a Superfuzz, with a sharp midrange bite that cuts through a mix. Engage the pedal and the guitar suddenly feels bigger, filling the space where a bass guitar might normally sit.
