Din Sync RE-808 Professionally built and calibrated using correct-spec and rare components, including original 1980s Toshiba red LEDs. It is not a clone based on reinterpretation but a true replica designed so precisely that it can run the original 808 operating system from Roland’s service ROMs. Each voice is recreated using discrete analogue components, following the original schematics component by component. The project uses a rare original 808 service CPU for development, allowing accurate behaviour of timing, accent, envelopes and overall response.
Unlike many modern recreations, the RE-808 is engineered to behave identically to the factory unit, including its quirks. It is a DIY project intended for skilled builders, with an emphasis on transparency, repairability and long-term serviceability. Din Sync’s aim is to preserve the 808 in a form that can continue to be built and maintained after vintage units become harder to repair.
Includes a Mean Well GST25A12-P1J 12V power adapter. Never used outside a studio environment.
