The ARP 2600 is one of the defining analogue synthesisers of the 1970s, combining the flexibility of a modular system with a semi-modular architecture that allows it to be played without patching. Its distinctive sound, extensive signal routing and hands-on interface have made it a longstanding favourite among synthesists, producers and sound designers. This vintage "Tonus" era ARP 2600 features three voltage-controlled oscillators capable of a broad range of analogue tones, from deep bass and classic leads to complex modulation and experimental textures. Its resonant low-pass filter is central to the characteristic early ARP sound, complemented by envelope and modulation generators, noise source, ring modulation and extensive audio and control-voltage processing. The normalled internal signal path means many sounds can be created without a single patch cable, while the comprehensive patch points allow the internal routing to be overridden or expanded as required. This makes the 2600 unusually immediate for a synthesiser with such extensive modular capabilities. A built-in spring reverb adds genuine electromechanical ambience, while the integrated speakers make the 2600 a remarkably self-contained instrument. Paired here with the ARP 3604P keyboard, the system provides the performance controls and connectivity associated with the classic early 2600 configuration. Features - Vintage Tonus-era ARP 2600 analogue synthesiser - Semi-modular architecture with normalled internal signal routing - Three voltage-controlled oscillators - Multiple oscillator waveforms - Resonant analogue low-pass filter - ADSR and AR envelope generators - Sample & hold - Ring modulator - Noise generator - Voltage processor - Extensive CV and audio patching - Built-in spring reverb - Integrated monitor speakers - ARP 3604P keyboard - Separate keyboard and synthesiser cases
Condition
Good vintage condition and fully functional following a recent service.
Keyboard, oscillators and controls are functioning correctly, with stable pitch and normal operation throughout. Keyboard contacts and connectors are clean and functioning correctly, and the instrument has been checked across all functions.
As an original 1970s analogue synthesiser, it retains the minor quirks and idiosyncrasies that can be expected from an instrument of this age.
This is a 110V unit and requires a suitable 240V-to-110V step-down transformer for operation in Australia.
Includes three power supply cables, a collection of patch cables, lids for both cases and a printed patch manual.
