The American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster is a highly accurate recreation of one of Fender’s most refined early-era designs, built with a clear focus on period-correct feel, response, and finish.
By 1961, the Stratocaster had evolved into a more balanced and considered instrument, with the introduction of the slab rosewood fingerboard and a more defined 3-colour sunburst. The alder body is finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, allowing it to resonate freely and wear in over time in a way consistent with vintage instruments. A medium "C" maple neck pairs with a 7.25" radius slab rosewood fingerboard, delivering the familiar feel of early '60s Fenders.
Pure Vintage '61 single-coil pickups provide the expected Strat character - clear, dynamic, and open, with a slightly sweeter top end and strong note separation. The vintage-style synchronized tremolo features a cold rolled steel block and bent steel saddles, while single-line "Fender Deluxe" tuners round out the period-correct hardware.
