The Gibson Futura is a short lived oddity of the 1980s - not to be confused with the original Explorer prototype form the 1950s of the same name. Essentially an upmarket version of the Gibson Corvus, the Futura features a mahogany body (colloquially known as the can-opener) with a set neck with ebony fingerboard, 22 frets and an evil looking 6 tuners per side headstock.
Two plastic covered Gibson humbuckers are controlled by two volume pots and a master tone with a 3 way switch to toggle between rhythm and lead tones. While never taking off commercially, the Futura and Corvus gained cult guitar status and can even be spotted in a handful of the Guitar Hero games.
Third strap pin installed for a couple of options. A few nicks and dings from players wear. Includes original hard case.
Currently setup in D standard for rockin'.
