An all analogue electronic drum kit complete with hexagonal tom toms. Completely analogue, The DRX1 offers a choice of eight user-programmable kit sounds.
At the core of the Pearl system, as with any electronic drum setup, lies the sound-generating module. Pearl has housed its sound circuitry within a 2U-high, 19" rack-mountable case, which is a practical choice for its functionality. The front panel of this unit boasts controls for pad sensitivity and sound editing, while the rear panel offers separate outputs for each of the five drum channels, as well as stereo and mono outputs. Additionally, a Memory Protect switch is provided on the rear panel, offering three positions: one for total memory security, another for complete memory accessibility, and a third that permits only one location to be available. This sets it apart from other models that typically provide factory presets along with just one user-customisable sound for each drum.
The pad design takes a nod from the original Simmons concept, especially in terms of looks. However, their construction is more of a novelty. Each drum is built around a sturdy plastic molding fitted with a circular, resilient rubber playing surface. Included as standard with the DRX1 are the reliable Pearl T900W stands, which securely lock into the pads, giving the entire kit a robust and stable feel.
The bass drum stands independently and is supported by a pair of imposing-looking spurs, with the pedal attaching to the unit via a substantial metal plate.

Serviced prior to sale. Button caps and post were cleaned and lubricated and most scratchiness has been eliminated. Still there a little bit but unit passes.
Junction box included but requires servicing (two channels non functional). Pads plugged directly into synthesiser function normally.
