The teenage engineering OP-1 Field is a complete redesign of one of the most influential portable music workstations ever created. Building on more than a decade of development, it retains the intuitive workflow that made the original OP-1 so popular while introducing major improvements in sound quality, connectivity, processing power, and performance.
Every stage of the signal path has been upgraded to professional 32-bit stereo audio, while new synthesis engines, expanded recording capabilities, and significantly increased storage make the OP-1 Field equally suited to songwriting, sound design, field recording, and full music production. The refined aluminium chassis houses a high-resolution flush display, redesigned speaker system with passive radiator, improved microphone, wireless MIDI, USB-C connectivity, FM transmission, and a battery capable of up to 24 hours of continuous use.
Recording has been expanded with eight interchangeable tape reels, multiple tape styles, stereo recording throughout, improved looping, and over 160 minutes of sample storage. Alongside new effects, instruments, sequencing tools, and extensive MIDI functionality, the OP-1 Field remains one of the most versatile standalone music production instruments available.
