The Rupert Neve Designs Portico 5017 is a compact, go-anywhere channel strip built around the classic Portico sound. It combines a transformer-coupled mic preamp, DI, compressor and Variphase control into a rugged portable unit, making it just as useful on stage as it is in the studio.
A standout feature is the ability to blend the DI and mic pre signals, opening up creative layering options for instruments and vocals. The single-knob compressor keeps things simple while still adding punch and control, and the Variphase control helps align signals for tighter, more focused recordings. With custom transformers and Silk mode on board, it delivers everything from clean detail to harmonically rich colour when pushed.
Designed as an evolution of the earlier 5016, it adds more flexibility and portability while keeping that unmistakable Neve character front and centre.
