Originally released in the mid-’90s by Jeorge Tripps’ boutique Way Huge, the Aqua-Puss quickly became a cult favourite for its short, slap-happy analogue echoes and wild self-oscillation.
After Way Huge went dormant, Dunlop revived the line in 2008, bringing back the Aqua-Puss as the MkII. The reissue kept the same delay range (20–300ms) and simple three-knob layout, but came in a sturdier, modern Dunlop chassis with true bypass.
Compared to the original, the MkII is less rare and more road-ready, yet retains the dark repeats and runaway feedback that made the first units legendary. Artists like John Mayer, Brad Paisley, and Joe Bonamassa have all put it to use for gritty slapbacks and spacey swells.
