The FZ from Collision Devices is a dynamic gated fuzz pedal composed of four silicon transistor gain stages, a dedicated Gate control, and a high frequency toggle switch for tone shaping. It's the first device from Collision Devices's Sparks Series—a line of DIY-friendly pedals that offer an easy and affordable introduction into the Collision Devices universe.
So what does FZ do?
The FZ's Gain control is extremely versatile, providing a lush overdrive sound at lower settings, and full-on shoegaze-style walls of sound at higher settings. The Gate knob defines the biasing for your signal, opening the gate more as you turn the knob clockwise, and choking the sound as you turn it counterclockwise. The High Frequency toggle switch can either cut or inject the high frequencies from your original signal into the gain stages, giving the FZ a dense, full fuzz sound while retaining the subtitles of your playing style.
