1964 Burns Black Bison Bass in uber-rare Transparent Red. A devilishly rare piece from Britain's top guitar manufacturer made during the golden age of the beat groups. It sports 3 Ultra-Sonic pickups, wild-dog & split-sound settings with an A/B switch to toggle the middle pickup.
Crafted from a relatively lightweight (4.85kg) sycamore body, slim sycamore neck with bound ebony fretboard and dot inlays, oversized headstock with clear plastic Bison plaque.
Made in London, UK just over 12 months before Jim Burns sold to the company to Baldwin and these basses were to disappear forever.
Likely one of only three known transparent red Bison basses in existence.
Ashtray bridge cover is missing, nut replaced, non-original knobs, & tuning buttons are replicas that have been 3D printed relatively close to original spec.
A rudimentary setup has been undertaken, but there is a twist in the neck, and would need further attention to make it more playable. with some minor neck binding repair being undertaken. All original frets aside from the zero fret which has been replaced at some point.
