Silvertone’s 1478 Silhouette is the Chicago-built Sears cult classic.
Harmony made them in the mid 60s, with offset lines, bound fretboard and big block inlays. The diamond-foil pickups deliver bright, microphonic sparkle with garage-rock bite. It’s very much the sound and style of mid 60s American garage and surf that indie players rediscovered decades later.
