Vintage Japanese Epiphone Casino. Features bound maple body with stunning sunburst finish, slim neck and rosewood board. From a time before the Elitist Series, this was the best Casino you could buy - and still is. Made exclusively for the Japanese market with the highest specs possible for the fussiest of players; these Terada Casinos are the closest thing you can get to a mid 1960s Casino for less than a quarter of the cost.
Nice mid-60s nut (1 11/16") width for slinky playing as opposed to the wide nut-width on almost all the other Casino's that Epiphone has reissued since. A very comfortable player, lightweight, resonant and almost no wear anywhere!
This instrument is the deluxe model with fret nibs, a true '60s style sunburst & 17th fret neck joint for easy playing in the upper region proving these early Terada Casinos are wonderfully built with precision & prove to be a more accurate representation of a vintage Casino than it's Matsumoku / Elitist / Elite contemporaries (don't even get us started on how much better these are than the inferior Peerless & Samick models).
Completely stock & all original! Made at the Terada Plant in Japan which is where Gretsch Guitars have been made since the late 1980s. A very high quality axe indeed.
Very little fretwear. 2.7kg.
Hardware is showing a little patina that gives a vintage vibe however still very nice for the age. There is an ever so slight yellowing beginning to happen on the lacquer around the binding which really makes those dark-stained maple back & sides pop!
Includes original gig bag & paperwork.
Fully setup with ultra low action & Elixir Optiweb 10-46 in-store prior to sale.
