The MX88 is a digital synthesiser engineered for performance and portability featuring an 88 key Graded Hammer Standard weighted action giving the player a realistic feel with heavier response in the low keys and lighter in the higher register. The Full Concert Grand piano voice is derived from Yamaha's MOTIF series, delivering a detailed and expressive piano sound which can be used across several styles.
It also boasts over 1000 voices from the MOTIF series including synths, keyboards, organs and clavichords making it a versatile instrument on stage or in the studio. The MX88 features the MOTIF Sound Engine, allowing users to layer and zone up to eight Elements for diverse and dynamic soundscapes. The FM Essential app for iOS provides access to a range of FM Voices and editing capabilities.
The MX88 offers Virtual Circuitry Modelling (VCM) effects for vintage and studio-quality signal processing. It supports 128-note polyphony for dropout-free live performances and MIDI integration with iOS applications, DAW software, and software synthesisers on Mac and PC. It functions as a control surface for DAWs, featuring transport controls and plug-in parameter interaction through control knobs. Additionally, it serves as a 16-channel MIDI interface for keyboard control and tone generation, making it a versatile recording centrepiece.
