The TLM 102 is an affordable way to get Neumann quality into your studio. It is a large diaphragm condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern in a compact package, allowing it to fit into small studio spaces and still adequately capture sound sources with true Neumann quality.
It is capable of handling extreme SPL of up to 144 dB with no distortion and has self-noise of only 12 dB-A - much lower than the ambient noise in a very quiet room. Though it is capable of capturing a wide range of sound sources such as horns, double bass, crisp guitars and powerful drums, the TLM 102 excels at capturing vocals with a remarkably linear response across the entire midrange, a slight lift around 10 kHz for smooth highs as well as incredible low end which can be enhanced by the well-controlled proximity effect of the capsule.
The TLM 102 even has an integrated pop shield so it can be used by pro's and beginners alike to accurately capture whatever sound source you're working with.
