1965 Fender Mustang from the transitional era between Leo's departure & CBS' takeover - sporting an ultra-dark Br*zillian rosewood fretboard with pearloid inlays, alder body finished in Red (the same paint code as Dakota Red however were only ever advertised as Red) with plenty of mojo & checking only found on a '60s Fender, iconic pearloid 3-ply pickguards and the original (and possibly the best) Fender Dynamic Vibrato system.
This piece is a transitional guitar; clearly built between 1964 and 1965 as it shows features such as the original Mustang headstock before changing over in early 65, yet features pearloid dots and veneer rosewood fingerboard.
The last iconic solid-body design from Leo Fender. Made in USA.
Includes FREE Setup of your choice + strings with sale. Let us know prior to shipping/collection with your requirements and we'll set it up just as you like!
Includes original Silver Tolex Case.
Tuners have been replaced with vintage Klusons and pickups have been changed for Lollar Blackface single coils (flatpoles - these are now called the 'Sixty-Four').
Original frets have plenty of life and original nut is functioning perfectly in conjunction with the original bridge and original vibrato system. Setup nicely with low action and returning to pitch after serious divebombs!
