Meridian is a versatile Eurorack filter module that offers users the ability to choose between four filter types and modes per side, as well as two effects (drive and phase shift) and ping functionality. This single module allows for the creation of a variety of sound textures and sonic landscapes.
The name "Meridian" represents the convergence of different elements and the idea of a boundary or line that separates parts. This is reflected in the module's ability to delineate different frequencies and aural elements, shaping the overall sound with defined contrast.
Meridian provides a sense of balance, harmony, and unity, while also allowing for a clear and definitive separation between different sonic elements. The module features two filters with adjustable cutoff, resonance, and contour parameters, as well as a Prime Freq control that adjusts both filters together. It also offers the option of serial or parallel routing and can function as either a stereo system or two independent mono channels.
Meridian's selection of filters, including Ladder, OTA, Comb, and vocal formant, along with its Phase Shifter and Drive effects, provide a vast range of textures. The module's features can all be modulated via CV inputs, including clock synchronisation for phase shifting.
