Bestie is not just an ordinary stereo mixer, it also functions as a stereo distortion/saturator that includes a pre-routed feedback channel which can produce delightful, crunchy sounds and offers up to a 20 dB boost and a mute switch for each channel, along with versatile connectivity.
If you keep the levels on Bestie to the left of the 12 o'clock position, your mixing experience will likely be straightforward and unremarkable. Keeping the levels on the Bestie to the left of 12 o'clock will keep you in the teachers good books, but boosting beyond this will turn the Bestie into a Beastie.
The headphone output on Bestie is dedicated and includes a loudness control with a smooth mixdown overdrive character. Additionally, it has a pre/post mute switch which allows you to listen to all your channels before unmuting them to the speakers.
Channels 1 and 5 on Bestie have a flexible connectivity scheme that can accommodate either two mono cables for the left and right channels or one mono cable to split between both channels, as well as a classic stereo jack.
