Vintage Companion Psychedelic Machine, designed by Fumio Mieda of Honey/Shin-ei in Japan around 1968. One of the rarest effects units on earth and easily one of the coolest. This was what started it all for the Univox Uni-vibe, as well as the Shin-ei/Univox Super Fuzz pedals, both of which were subsequently developed from the circuits of the Psychedelic Machine.

The sound sections comprise of "Mood" and "Fuzz" circuits, both able to be used individually, or combined. The Fuzz features two tone modes, plus Expander and Volume controls. The Mood Adjuster section includes Tremolo, Vibrato and Duet (Uni-vibe) modes, each of which is controlled by a step-switch speed control for the repeats (1 second to 1/16th), plus Intensity (effect amount) and Volume knobs. The Fuzz and Mood sections are each cancel switchable (on/off) via standard footswitch inputs on the front of the unit (footswitches not included).

Amazing original circuit and in absolute flawless working order, with clean signal, pots and switches. The casing shows some external signs of use as pictured, although it is in overall very good condition. An extremely rare piece to find as only a very small number were ever made. This one was built for operation at 240V, and is fitted with an Australian plug. This voltage will be fine for use in Europe/UK/Australia, though users in the US and Japan would need to operate with a step-up transformer, easily obtainable from electronics stores and online.

Designed by Fumio Mieda, the PM-14 combines the circuits which became the FY-6 & RT-18 Resly Tone. This item is a must for any serious Hendrix fan! This is how you get that sound!

The Fuzz section includes controls for the amount of gain ranging from a subtle drive to a beautifully disastrous sawtooth crunch plus two very distinct tones of either explosive thunder or a biting treble top boost. The Mood Adjuster section includes Tremolo, Vibrato and Duet (Uni-vibe) modes, each of which is controlled by a step-switch speed control for the repeats (1 second to 1/16th), plus Intensity (effect amount). Each section contains an individual volume control plus standard input jacks to cancel each effect with a standard on/off foot-switch (not included).

240v AU plug.
