Extremely rare c.1964 Klira Thinline Bass featuring a 'Verithin' body-depth, Hofner-scale length and Hofner-style 'Staple-Bar' Mini Humbuckers. Unlike it's East-German counterparts; Klira's hold the same quality of build as Hofners, some Framus and Hoyer instruments - often using the same woods and build techniques as the best of Europe's mid-century luthiers.
Bound maple back and sides in 3-tone sunburst with excellent checking coming up, worn in maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, rosewood headstock veneer with 3 x 4-pointed star inlays (possibly symbolising the star of Bethlehem, also known as a 'Compass-star' which will lead you to the best bass tone you've ever had).
Made in West Germany.
Neck has been professionally reset and setup professionally with roundwound strings by Jon Free (Found Sound / Black Guitars).
