This rare special issue commemorates 6 years and ten-thousand units of a device that has become an essential element in so many musical outfits requiring wobbly waves. To celebrate this occasion, Fairfield has created a documentary feature and other media items that discuss the story of the pedal and the unusual process applied to this special run. Each enclosure has been scorched by fire and washed in water. Each of the 500 unique pedals issued globally have been digitally scanned and collected in an artistic presentation that is included with each unit along with commemorative plectrums.
At the modulators core, a microcontroller dishes out erratic voltage leaps at varying intervals. Guiding this capriciousness is the RATE dial, veering between leisurely, deliberate waves and brisk, lively transitions. Step over to the DAMP, and it governs the modulation's tempo. At its nadir, expect rapid pitch alterations, but elevate it, and a more calculated, chorus-esque resonance emerges. The DEPTH then steps in, sculpting the modulation's strength, hinting at a penchant for understatement – suggesting that sometimes, less truly amplifies more.
Post delay, the signal meets a discerning low pass filter, echoing the signal's contour. With the LPG dial at your fingertips, mould this exchange to yield either a responsive lo-fi grain or a pronounced gate-esque reaction.
Diving internally, the pedal cradles BOOST and PAD jumpers. They're tailored for a guitar's single-coils out of the box, but tweaks are at the ready to cater to varied signal strengths or input resistances.
