Rare & virtually unseen, this Crafted by Sigma (underneath the strictest supervision of Martin & Co) this 000-shape pays tribute to one of the finest American instruments ever, specifically being inspired by the 00028 treasured and played by Eric Clapton & seen in the MTV Unplugged performance.
The Sigma 00028 EC features a solid Sitka Spruce Top, Solid Rosewood Back and Sides, bound Rosewood fingerboard (an alternative to the Ebony fingerboard featured on Martin's design - Ebony is very hard to attain in Japan) as well as a razor-thin coating of amber-tinted polyurethane finish that allows the instrument to breath and project a wonderful pronounced midrange and bellowing lows.
Crafted from scratch in Japan by Sigma (by Martin). Dated 1993.
