The SubMic Low Frequency Microphone is inspired by the classic speaker mic, or "subkick" design, and is specifically crafted to capture deep bass frequencies. When paired with other microphones, it delivers an impressive low-end punch to instruments like kick drums, bass, and guitar amplifiers.
The design incorporates a low-output, full-range 6.5" speaker housed in a vented bamboo shell. The SubMic operates at a safe level, allowing it to connect directly to most mic preamps without the need for a DI box. It also features a Neutrik XLR connector, a built-in mic stand mount, and comes with a padded vinyl carrying case.
The SubMic is significantly lighter and more compact than the Yamaha Subkick, and priced at one-third the cost. Utilising the same speaker size, it has a comparable output level, and maintains a similar low-end response, and additionally, it captures more low-mid frequencies, offering greater versatility.
