The Crocodile Tail Loop is One Control's flagship pedal switcher, designed for ultimate flexibility and convenience. It allows users to create up to 70 presets with its simple push-button auto-save system. Featuring 7 programs per bank and the ability to include up to 10 loops per program, it is ideal for complex setups. Equipped with MIDI functionality, the OC10 can send program changes or function as a MIDI thru, making it compatible with a wide range of MIDI devices. Additionally, you can link two OC10 units via a proprietary LAN cable, enabling access to multiple pedals off-stage. It includes One Control’s renowned BJF Buffer, which can be bypassed with a non-buffered input, and offers a Direct Mode for easy access during practices or experimentation.

BJF Buffer Routing The Crocodile Tail Loop features both buffered and non-buffered inputs to suit a variety of setups. Some guitarists prefer placing a buffer later in their signal chain to avoid interference or may choose to bypass it entirely. The buffered input and output function like any other pedal in your chain, providing flexible routing options. For instance, you can insert the buffer into loop 8 by connecting the send 8 jack to the buffer input and the buffer output to return 8. This flexibility makes it easy to integrate the buffer exactly where it’s needed in your setup.

Amp Channel Switching Loops 8-10 are labeled as NO (Normally Open) and NC (Normally Closed), allowing the Crocodile Tail Loop to switch amp channels or manage effects loops based on your amp's requirements. Simply consult your amp’s manual to determine compatibility. If your amp supports channel switching via a ¼-inch jack, the OC10 is likely compatible, offering seamless integration with your amplifier.

MIDI Functions The OC10 is equipped with MIDI in and out/thru capabilities for effortless control of digital effects. It can send patch changes (PC#) with minimal programming effort, ensuring user-friendly operation. Advanced MIDI features, such as sending tap tempo to Strymon pedals or managing up to 16 devices across 16 channels, are accessible with the CrocEye MIDI expansion. TX (transmit) and RX (receive) settings let you configure whether to send or receive MIDI program changes, and the MIDI out port can also function as a MIDI thru for more complex setups.

Link and Sync Functions The Crocodile Tail Loop’s Link and Sync features make it a standout option for professional musicians. The Link function connects two OC10 units with a proprietary cable, enabling the control of up to 20 pedals with one switch. The Sync function allows remote control of a switcher via a second OC10 or an external MIDI controller. This makes it easy to manage setups whether you’re using a pedalboard on stage or having a technician handle patch changes remotely.

Stereo Configurations While the Crocodile Tail Loop’s default jacks are mono, it can handle stereo setups by dedicating two loops to a stereo pedal. To use a stereo effect:

Connect the output of loop 8 to the stereo pedal input. Send the left and right outputs of the pedal to return 8 and return 9, respectively. Route output 8 to your left amp and output 9 to your right amp. Loops 9 and 10 can also be used for stereo effects if preferred. Keep in mind that stereo effects should be configured as the final stage in your signal chain, as returning to mono after stereo will result in a mono output.
