Rare early 1980s Japanese made BOSS Limiter which gives control over a guitar's dynamic range using a limiter effect with a circuit designed specifically for electric guitar (but works on bass too). Controls for Level, Tone, Ratio & Threshold. Black Label. Made in Japan.

Suspected Op-Amp failure as LEVEL control does not work however all other controls work. Early 12v DC ACA power requirement model (UNIT DOES NOT WORK WITH BATTERY) but will power up via 9v DC when daisy chained with other BOSS units.
Unit works fine with THRESHOLD fairly high as a great sounding and subtle compressor, allowing the user to use adjust RATIO and TONE control as a neat little tone shaper to either kill those pesky highs or accentuate glassy single coils for funk & jangley indie/post punk playing.
