Catalinbread Fuzzrite Germanium (GE) w/ Vintage & Modern Toggle.
From 1966 to 1968, Mosrite made two fuzz circuits: one with silicon and a rarer one with germanium components, of which only around 250 units were produced. By 1968, the popularity of fuzz tones in songs like "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" and "Incense and Peppermints" made the germanium version sought-after. Catalinbread has recreated the germanium version, faithfully mirroring the original but with a toggle for modern sound adjustments, ensuring compatibility with current equipment.
Catalinbread now have a germanium version at their disposal, and they've used it as a benchmark to create an extremely accurate version with a modern spin.
Faithful to the original, the Catalinbread Fuzzrite Germanium is equipped with two NOS PNP germanium semiconductors and a polarity inverter IC, ensuring compatibility with various power sources. However, a new feature is the addition of a toggle switch that transitions to a modern mode, enhancing the low-end sound to align with the latest gear.
