Nearness is a minimal 3HP mixer module designed to distribute sounds across the stereo field. Its left and right outputs are positioned at the top and bottom, with seven mono input jacks in between. Each input is assigned a specific pan ratio based on its proximity to an output. The center input is evenly panned at 50:50 to both outputs, while inputs nearer to a particular output are progressively panned more heavily towards that output. Inputs adjacent to outputs are nearly entirely panned to the corresponding output.
Users can adjust the level for each output using a jumper, choosing between 1:1 amplification for integration within a eurorack system or -6dB line level for usage as the system's output module.
