Rare 1962 Maton EG75 Super Solid sculpted with the unique Goldline "sharkbyte" on the topmost bout but retaining all the appointments of the EG75 such as the Moody "pearloid" pickups, 3-a-side tuners and trapeze tailpiece. Made in Melbourne, Australia.
These are non truss rod guitars so the neck is subject to movement, playing pretty low at the moment however it is strung with 9 gauge strings and has minimal room for adjustment at bridge.
Non professionally re-fretted in the past however it appears to be long ago & showing some wear.
Non original pickguard, pickguard screws and lower strap pin. Neck pickup missing one screw.
Refinished entirely but the headstock face (leaving that iconic 1960s Maton logo and swish design decal) in a very thick poly finish which has hidden the serial number and cracked on the lower German Carve. Not a huge biggie and feels nice in the hand.
All wiring has been replaced with some electrical tape used as shielding and to remedy connecting points of wire however original pots have been kept and functioning well. Bridge pickup measures at just over 4k and neck pickup at just over 6k.
The original bridge has some pitting which causes some sitar-like overtones from the saddle imprints.
Includes a tired but adequate Washburn case.
