Optical compressors are renowned for their smooth, musical compression, a characteristic rooted in the non-linearities of classic valve-based designs. Unlike modern compressors with linear gain control, these vintage units contributed to a warmer, more natural sound. Inspired by the limiter circuit in the wireless system used by a certain "Angus," this pedal brings that organic compression to guitar and bass. Featuring a DRY blend for parallel compression, a RATIO/SUSTAIN control, and a TILT EQ (flat at noon), it offers versatility while retaining a rich, dynamic response. Notably, Davey Lane keeps a CS-2 "always on" in his setup.
