Drawing inspiration from the classic Bell and Howell 385 Filmosound projector, Walrus introduces an overdrive pedal that emulates its unique tone. Although the 385 overdrive pedal pays homage to its vintage counterpart with its straightforward tone control, it offers a modern twist by separating the single tone control into distinct boost and cut functions for bass and treble. This modification grants musicians the freedom to sculpt mid-frequencies, paving the way for a broader spectrum of tonal possibilities. The internal operation of the pedal at 18v successfully captures the projector amp's dynamic responsiveness, making it highly receptive to the intensity of the player's touch.
Updated for 2023, The 385 MKII has received the following features: * An A/B switch has been added giving the pedal two separate sets of volume and gain. Use it like a preset to change the volume and/or gain for specific parts. * The 385+ Switch adds an additional gain stage at the front of the pedal for thick, saturated overdrive with more sustain. * Soft touch, relay true-bypass switch. * Top mount in/out jacks.
