JMG Instruments was started by Jack Maskiell upon returning as a POW in Singapore after WWII. The Perth based company was active from 1945 to about 1955 and hired returned servicemen and remains of one the largest instrument manufacturers from Western Australia.
Although mainly making ukuleles, this is a rare example of a concert sized acoustic with the classic appointments you'd expect to see from a guitar it's vintage including a trapeze tailpiece, floating adjustable saddle, 3-a-side open back tuners and a stylish raised pickguard.
Quite a concave belly on this one due to age, along with some checking on the finish. Small crack next to sound hole (pictured) and some marks on the finish notably on the back of the neck and lower on the top near the bridge pin (pictured). Includes original case.
