Make Noise - Dynamix

DynaMix is a 10HP fast two-channel Low Pass Gate, dynamics manager and mixer derived from the 0-COAST synthesizer. The LEVEL parameter provides simultaneous voltage control over the Amplitude and Frequency content of audio signals, operating as a VCF/A. The DYNMC parameter accepts audio signals or control voltages and converts them into a signal that may increase or decrease the LEVEL parameter thus allowing for side-chaining and ducking. The summing section is complete with an AUXiliary INput allowing for the chaining of multiple MIX units (modDemix, Optomix and RxMx modules) to create large, non-centralised mixes.

Make Noise - Contour

Contour is a 6 HP 4 Stage function generator, or ADSR. Designed to create control voltages to drive the Dynamix, modDemix and other fast VCAs, VCFs, and more it is derived from the 0-COAST synthesizer, and draws inspiration from the original Loudness Contour circuit of the MiniMoog. The simplified control set (where Decay adjust both the decay to Sustain and the Release) makes it quick and intuitive to set-up. The Contour module adds full voltage control, a mirrored output, End of Onset and End of Contour Gate outputs which allow it to be highly integrated into any modular synthesizer.

Make Noise - 0-Coast

The 0-COAST is a single voice patchable synthesizer. Its name reflects the fact that it utilises techniques from both the Moog and Buchla paradigms (aka “East Coast,” and “West Coast,” due to their locations), but is loyal to neither and thus implements “no coast synthesis.”While the 0-COAST utilises classic modular synthesis techniques, we designed it to operate with or without the use of patch cables. The necessary connections have been made from circuit to circuit so it operates as an expressive, musical MonoSynth. Using only the MIDI controller of your choice you could apply new timbres to your existing musical forms.

Make Noise - Wogglebug

The "WoggleBug" is a random voltage generator, originally designed by Grant Richter of Wiard Synthesizers. It is a continuation of the "smooth" and "stepped" fluctuating random voltage sources pioneered by Don Buchla within the Model 265 "Source of Uncertainty," expanding it to include the other-worldly Woggle CVs (stepped voltages with decaying sinusoids edges). The Wogglebug is a very musical random voltage generator where it is possible to synchronize all random signal to a Master Clock. Guaranteed to unleash your synthesizer's ID MONSTER.

Make Noise - Telharmonic

The tELHARMONIC is a Multi-Voice, Multi-Algorithm synthesizer module named for the music hall considered by some to be the location of the first electronic music concerts. It was coded by Tom Erbe with the goal of presenting three historically important pioneering electronic tone generation techniques less often implemented within the modular synthesizer.
The tELHARMONIC's roots go back further than the advent of electronic music, as it also takes a new approach to handling music theory in the modular context.

Make Noise - Teleplexer

The Teleplexer is a telegraph style multiplexer (signal router) that applies the fast, physically immediate techniques of telegraphy to playing the modular synthesizer. The user patches any number of control sources leaving the destination end of patch cables un-connected. Destinations are patched to the outputs of the Teleplexer. Touching the tip of any patch cable carrying a source signal to the surface of the Teleplexer creates a momentary connection. The user determines the destination(s) and polarity of signal by touching the patch cable to any one of the 14 metal plates.

Make Noise - Pressure Points

Pressure Points is a controller module, an analog sequencer that is played by hand. Touching the gold plated copper wires (aka Touch Plates), you become part of the circuit, generating a gate signal (Gate OUT), a control signal proportional to the amount of pressure applied (Press OUT) and the 3 Tuned Voltages for the activated Stage. The Gate signals may be used to turn portions of a patch ON/ OFF, generate timing events within a patch or to Trigger a Function Generator such as MATHS. The pressure signals may be used to add expression to a patch by varying Pitch or Timbre in real-time, based upon the artist's input.

Make Noise - Mysteron

The Mysteron is a voltage controlled Dual Digital Waveguide algorithm that is a bit of a mystery even to those of us involved in its design. Despite being completely digital, it is highly organic, displaying variation in outcome often seen only in nature. It is a formless blob of DSP that you grow, modulate and patch program into new sounds, some vaguely recognizable and others completely otherworldly. The range of sounds possible is quite large. From pianissimo to fortissimo, short percussive bursts to bowed, sustaining pitches. The two waveguides can be pitched together or independently.

Make Noise - LxD

The LxD, Low Strike Duo, is a dual-response, two channel, direct-coupled, Low Pass Gate, which utilises vactrols in order to provide simultaneous control over the Amplitude and Frequency Spectrum of an INput Signal. It is, in essence, a VCFA (Voltage Controlled Filter Amplifier). Unlike the Optomix, the LxD offers two different filter responses. CH. 1 offers a 12db/Octave response that is mildly-resonant, while CH. 2 offers a 6bd/Octave that is non-resonant. The OUTput of CH. 1 is normalled to the Input of CH. 2. This normalisation puts the two channels in series.

Make Noise - FXDf

The FXDf is a 6 Band Fixed Filter. Traditionally fixed filters are large modules having 8 to 10 bands, each with a manual level control, but rarely any voltage control. The FXDf is so small we had to abbreviate the words Fixed Filter and by providing individual outputs as well as a header for normalled connection to our RxMx 6 channel macro-lowpass-gate module, voltage control over level of each band is possible through patching. Features simultaneous 6db/Octave and 12db/Octave inputs, 6 filter bands spaced at 11 to 13 semitones and cover a range of 6 octaves, and individual outputs for each filter.
