44244
Royer R-10 Ribbon Condenser Microphone

The Royer Labs R-10 is a passive ribbon microphone designed for both studio recording and live use. Its compact, durable construction and high SPL handling make it well suited to close-miking loud sources including electric guitar cabinets, brass instruments and drums.

The R-10 uses Royer’s patented offset-ribbon design, providing optimised SPL handling from the front of the microphone, while the rear side offers a brighter response for lower-SPL sources. A multi-layer windscreen helps reduce plosives and proximity effect, while the internally shock-mounted ribbon is isolated from vibration for improved durability.

Its open grille design reduces standing waves and comb filtering for a clearer capture, with a flat 30 Hz–15 kHz frequency response and bidirectional figure-eight polar pattern.

Specifications

Type: Passive ribbon microphone

Transducer: Ribbon

Polar pattern: Bidirectional / figure-eight

Frequency response: 30 Hz–15 kHz, flat

Maximum SPL: 160 dB at 1 kHz

Impedance: 100 ohms

Sensitivity: -54 dBV (2 mV)

Output: Solid-state, analogue

Dimensions: 149 mm long × 35 mm diameter

Weight: 368 g

Features

High SPL capability for close-miking loud sound sources

Patented offset-ribbon design

Multi-layer windscreen for plosive protection

Internally shock-mounted ribbon

Open grille to minimise standing-wave distortion

Low residual noise

Resistant to heat and humidity

Includes carry case, mic clip and soft bag.

Video: https://youtu.be/jlgidCdf1fo&t=122s

Product Specs

Item Number: 44244

Make: Royer

Model: R-10

Condition: Very Good

Finish: Silver

Categories: pro-audio ⇒ microphones

Made In: United States

MPN: 44244
