24 track recording device with ADAT sync and optional I/O compatibility and an easy and intuitive user interface - the Alesis ADAT HD24 is a hard disk recorder that operates almost exactly like a tape-based analogue recorder.
The recording system offers 24-track digital audio recording at 48kHz, with the ability to record 12 tracks at 96kHz for high-quality audio. Digital audio rates range from 44.1kHz to 96kHz. The EC-2 upgrade can increase the HD24's recording capabilities to 96kHz. The system comes equipped with 24 analogue inputs and outputs (+4dBu, 1/4" TRS), as well as 24 channels of ADAT Optical I/O for standard connections. The dual recording bays feature removable hard drives, ensuring affordable media costs. Instant access to audio is available through ADAT/FST (File Streaming Technology), allowing users to quickly navigate to specific parts of the recording. The system includes internal editing functions such as cut, copy, paste, and track-move with undo. Alternatively, users can take advantage of the built-in Ethernet port to transfer files to a computer-based DAW.
