Gibson's first ever reliced Les Paul model, the LP Firebrand was introduced as a rebrand of the well-known 'The Paul' model (1978) offering a more affordable entry into the Gibson range at the time. Most notably here the construction was changed from a walnut body to an all-mahogany slab body with a 'branded' Gibson logo in the headstock instead of the standard decal.
With the introduction of the Firebrand line, a small number of these guitars were factory reliced to feature the 'fly specking' black splatter across the entire body, a popular relicing technique being used by furniture makers in the late '70s, as well as small dinging throughout.
This model comes factory-fitted with the highly-regarded 'T Top' Humbuckers just like the Les Paul Custom Models had at the time. Also sporting an ebony fretboard and genuine mother of pearl inlays, this is a truly unique piece of Gibson history.
Made in the USA, Feb 1980. Includes Gibson Protector Chainsaw case.
